Growing Instructions:

• Sowing: Direct sow Butterfly Blend seeds outdoors after the last frost, or start indoors 6–8 weeks before the frost date. Rake the soil lightly and scatter the seeds evenly over the surface. Gently press the seeds into the soil without covering them, as they need light to germinate.
• Soil: Wildflowers are adaptable but thrive best in well-drained, loose soil. They can tolerate poor soil conditions, making them ideal for various locations.
• Sunlight: Plant in a location with full sun to partial shade. Most wildflowers in this blend require at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for vibrant blooms.

Watering:

• Germination stage: Water regularly after planting to keep the soil consistently moist until seedlings emerge, typically in 7–14 days.
• After establishment: Once the plants are established, they are quite drought-tolerant. Water as needed, especially during dry spells, but avoid overwatering.

Temperature:

• Wildflowers in this blend can adapt to a wide range of temperatures, but they generally thrive in temperatures between 60°F to 80°F (16°C to 27°C).
• Some species in the blend are frost-tolerant, extending the blooming season into early fall.

Care & Maintenance:

• Thinning: Once seedlings are about 2–3 inches tall, thin them to allow proper spacing for air circulation and healthy growth.
• Mulching: Apply a light layer of mulch to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds, but don’t cover the seeds at planting time.
• Fertilizing: Wildflowers typically do not require fertilization, as they thrive in nutrient-poor soils. Too much fertilizer may result in fewer blooms.
