Potting:

1. Container & Soil: Use a well-draining container with a sandy, light soil mix. Poppies prefer slightly poor soil, so avoid heavy fertilizers.
2. Sowing: Sprinkle seeds on top of the soil and lightly press them down, as poppy seeds need light to germinate. Start seeds outdoors in early spring or fall, as poppies prefer cooler weather.

Growing:

1. Light: Place in full sun, as poppies need plenty of sunlight to thrive.
2. Temperature: Ideal temperatures for growth are between 55-65°F (13-18°C). Poppies are hardy and can tolerate light frost.

Watering:

1. Frequency: Water lightly and allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Once established, poppies are relatively drought-tolerant.
2. Drainage: Ensure excellent drainage, as poppies don’t do well in wet, compacted soil.
