• Soil Requirements: Basil thrives in well-draining, fertile soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0-7.5). Enrich the soil with compost or organic matter for best results.

Watering:

• Germination Stage: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during germination, which usually takes 5-10 days.
• Once Established: Water basil deeply about once a week, allowing the top 1 inch of soil to dry between waterings. Basil prefers moist but not soggy soil.
• Watering Tip: Water at the base of the plant to prevent fungal diseases and avoid wetting the leaves. In hot weather, basil may need more frequent watering, especially if grown in containers.
